Name: Sakchai Siripanyawuth

Company: Web Courses Bangkok

Job Title: Web Design Instructor

Nationality: Thai-Indian

Age: 25 Years Old

For those who don’t know you can you tell us a little about yourself

I was born and raised in Bangkok, Thailand graduated from New International School of Thailand.

After high-school I went to University in Liverpool to do Computer Games Technology, after 2 years I decided that it was time to drop out.

After dropping out I did a course for Computer Animation at Animationmentor.com. When I graduated I got a job in an Animation Studio in Thailand and after realizing that I wasn’t going to get anywhere working with Thai companies I decided that it was time to do my own thing.

How did you get into web design

I got into web design in high school. I worked on a community site for a game I was playing called “Command and Conquer Red Alert” the site provided updates and information for the game.

After winning an award for that site I felt very good about my design skills, I decided to continue doing research and learned web design from the internet and kept working on projects.

It was more of a hobby than a profession though, after the Computer Animation didn’t work out, I figured that it was time for me to change my hobby into a profession and started designing websites professionally.

In your opinion whats the difference between a good design and a great design?

I think good design has to serve a purpose, it has to look good and be easy to use.

Most of the time, Good design will satisfy the purpose it was designed for . Great design is when you innovate and when you do something new that works great and improves user experience like its never been done before.

What was the first website you ever designed and would you do anything different?

The first site I designed was called ra2-central.com it doesn’t exist anymore since its been so long since it went live.

What would I do differently now?, I would use CSS rather than a Table design on my first site but back then CSS was very new and wasn’t widely adopted.

Can you show us some of your portfolo?

When your teaching E-Comm at WCB what blocks do you find students run into most often

Usually students don’t have content prepared. Its good to come to class with an Idea if what you want, that way you achieve more during class. I find that students who have an idea in mind end up getting more from the class.

With so much competition online, how do you think a retailer standout?

having great design, and great terms of service, and good online service can make you standout from the crowd. Providing products that are usually not available on the markets is also another advantage you have. Having a blog also helps set you apart from the competition.

What has been your best experience as a web designer?

Working with any wordpress website has always been a good experience. WordPress just leverages so much hard work. Any site I’ve built with wordpress I usually enjoy doing alot.

What projects are you currently working on?

Currently i am working on a personal project, using Ruby On Rails. I am extremely excited about it and looking forward to showing it off to the world.

How do you keep up to date with whats going on in the industry

Searching through Google and reading sites like Web courses Bangkok also has a lot of great content that are regularly updated.

What advice can you give the students at WCB?

What ever it is you want to build. The internet is a tool that you can use to do pretty much anything. If you have a project in mind don’t wait around. Get it done. Get it out there, you’ll be surprised by what the web has to offer!

Thank you very much for taking the time to let us know a little bit more about yourself Zack.
