Web Courses Bangkok had the great privilege to talk to Julien Smith about Social Media, Engagement and how the social media can be harnessed for business. Its a video interview however we didn’t actually record any video, so we just filled in the gaps, enjoy!
Julien Smith, the influential Co-author of the Online Marketing and customer engagement Bible ‘Trust agents” agreed recently to take part in an interview with us at Web Courses Bangkok.
He goes into detail how a business needs to always represent itself online as a real person and how when they become a ‘cyborg’ by not actually engaging naturally they reduce the amount of care that an individual has for the business.
One of our interns watched this before it went live and a comment he made, that I think this whole interview resonates with was..
“In Thailand most people shop at a business where they are either friends with the owner or know someone who knows them, and we would never do the sort of thing that people do to Best Buy”
Its that level of ‘knowing the owner’ that social media can allow a business to achieve.
