How long have you been a web designer?
I’ve been a designer since 2004. That was the time of my first experiments with colors, styles and web.
About how many sites have you made?
Around 25 websites and tons of other related things
What made you want to be a web designer?
I think it was all about good friends company. My classmates were not bad in coding. I totally loved Internet and wished to improve the web too.
What was the first web site you made?
Like many others, I’ve started from my own home page. First of all I read a book called “HTML 4 in practice” and decided to test my skills. The site was rather simple, using pure html and styles. After several years I discovered the power of Adobe software and became a graphic addicted person.
What would be the ideal web project for you?
The ideal project for me is the project with complete and detailed brief by smart client, who easily communicates with you and trusts, that you are a professional in your area.
What projects are you currently working on?
Currently I’m working on one corporate international project, one UI-improvement project and one Joomla template.
What is best part of being a web designer?
The best part is knowing that you have a capability and power to make things around you better and consequently make the world more beautiful and usable.
Tell us about your best as experience as a web designer?
Up to now – starting my renewed portfolio and creating web site and promo materials for http://top4jump.ru project, that won “The best student startup of the year” award in 2008.
Tell us about your worst as experience as a web designer?
It was long time ago, with one client that totally disappeared after I sent him the brand new design for his e-commerce project. Since then I’ve started to take prepayments.
What are the most important things to learn to be a good web designer?
Patientce, attention to details and learning the balance. Remember: best is the enemy of good.
What advice would you give to our Web Courses Bangkok students?
The most important things are practice and practical experience. No matter good or bad, but experience. Try different ways in solving problems. Give yourself a break and go outside. Who knows, where you can get your next inspiration. Use social media and creative networks to show up work and to exchange knowledge with others. Don’t be afraid of criticism – it’s a very useful thing. Besides, learn to develop your communicative skills and don’t overestimate your capabilities accepting too many clients.
