Working with Carl was like my finding a rope at the bottom of a long well with the water rising all around me. I was at my wits end. I had already studied for two months with Team Treehouse and taken diligent notes and understood the idea of what a responsive web site would do and how it would do it. In my mind, I could see the design already. I went ahead with the design for my customer, and then when I went to write the code, I freaked out. Like an artist in front of a blank canvas with paints and brushes at hand, the image clearly seen in my mind, and yet: nothing. Frantically I search and researched, because that’s the only way I know how to get over a learning block, and that’s when I found www.webcoursesbangkok.
I scrolled down the list of links to web sites that used Foundation and there they were. I was in love. “This is what I call good web design!,” I exclaimed to myself. Everything was there: Ease of use, organized presentation of material, wonderfully interesting to look at, easy to navigation. I went all through the web site: every page. I checked the view source. I marvelled at how everything I learned I could recognize. But when it became my turn to write the code, I froze.
I went back to the site many times and by that time was engaged with a text conversation with Carl. Well, the rest is history, as they say. Carl took my photoshop design, developed the web responsive code and supplied me with videos so I could see what was being done. How do you thank some one enough for unlocking the doors to knowledge? I just don’t know how. Thank you just doesn’t seem to cover it, but it’s the only word I known.
Thank you Carl and Taya for being so gracious to me. Isabel Smith – Art and Design, Florida USA
