Rethinking The UX Workflow: How AI Helped Me Rebuild Everything (Yes, Everything)
This isn’t another “just use ChatGPT for ideas” post. This is about rebuilding the entire UX pipeline — from idea to prototype — with AI at the core. It’s not the future. It’s right now.
Introduction: When the UX Process Becomes the Bottleneck
UX design is supposed to be about solving problems creatively. But the actual process? Often slow, manual, and filled with friction. Meetings. Mapping. Wireframes. Documentation. It adds up.
So I rebuilt my entire UX/UI workflow using AI — and what used to take six weeks now takes six days. Here’s exactly how it works.

Step 1: Turning Ideas into UX Flows in Minutes
Instead of whiteboarding flows from scratch, I use a custom GPT (trained on my past projects) to generate:
- Sitemaps
- User flows
- Page-level logic
It understands my logic and gives me a full structure in under 5 minutes. No sticky notes required.
Step 2: Wireframes Without the Drag-and-Drop
I describe the layout in plain language:
“Hero image. CTA. Three feature columns. Testimonial slider.”
Tools like Magician or Galileo AI convert that into usable wireframes instantly — without ever touching a rectangle tool.

Step 3: Design Systems Built by Description
Instead of manually building spacing, colors, and buttons, I describe the vibe:

Relume and Uizard turn that into component libraries — including Figma exports and token-ready assets.

Step 4: Figma as a Logic Layer, Not a Sketchpad
Now that AI handles layout and styling, Figma becomes my refinement tool. I use plugins like:
- Autoname (for layer structure)
- A11y plugin (for color contrast)
- Locofy (for developer-ready output)
I’m spending less time pixel pushing, more time validating flows and intent.

Step 5: Prototypes That Click Themselves
The final Figma step is connecting everything. Previously tedious, it’s now nearly instant with AI-assisted prototyping tools.
I define button logic, and the rest is handled. The prototype is:
- Clickable
- Shareable
- Client-ready and dev-friendly
Bonus: Handover and Documentation with AI
AI now helps me create specs, tickets, and developer docs in Notion or Confluence. From one Figma file, I generate:
- Component documentation
- Responsive notes
- Accessibility guidelines
- Jira-ready handoff details
It saves hours per project — and devs appreciate the consistency.
Why AI Won’t Replace Designers (But Will Replace Drudgery)
Here’s the reality: AI didn’t replace my creativity. It replaced the repetitive parts:
- Spacing systems
- Wireframe dragging
- Component duplication
- Redundant documentation
That’s a win. I’m now working at a more strategic level — and clients notice.
