One of the first thing you should do, all the info and data you have in your mind, put it in paper and start to design your business plan. This is important to show to your clients or investors.

The logo is the face of any business or company, a logo say a lot, so make a nice one, and if your skills are not the best at designing a logo, ask to somebody else to do it.

One of the most difficult words to say, but a very important one. If you don’t have time for a new project, be fair to yourself and say no. The idea is having enough time to do the best work for your clients. Too many clients equals lower quality of work.

Having a website or a blog, is one of the most important things you should do. It is the entrance door to your company, so future clients can see your work. So make a nice website, a nice portfolio and a good contact information page. Show your job quality to the people so they can contact you for work.

If you planning to work 6 hours a day for example from 9am to 3 pm, in that time only work on your projects. Freelance implies freedom but discipline, so in the time you are working on projects, don’t make private phone calls, or private emails, play with the children or watch tv if you work from home.

Know when to start and to stop

It’s okay if you do some extra hours a day, but is very important to take some time off to do other stuff. Know when stop, close the computer and spare time with friends or family. When you work from home it is difficult stop working, so keep in mind to work only a certain number of  hours a day.
